James "Jim" Duane Latourelle died on September 8, 2019. He was born in El Paso, Texas on March 19, 1935 to Duane D. and Nora P. Latourelle. On October 7, 1967 he married Jocelyn Marrero in New York City, New York. They were later sealed in the Los Angeles Temple.
Jim served in the Navy during the Korean War. After his time in the Navy, he worked as a cardiac perfusionist, a medical administrator, a business administrator, and later a State Lobbyist.
He served as the Boy Scout Commissioner of Bronx and greater New York, and named Commissioner of the year. He loved being a Stake Missionary, and served as Seventy's Quorum President. As a lobbyist, he lobbied for school improvements. He served as the first male PTA President for Highland Elementary. He could often be found writing articles and short stories.
Jim collected pigs of all kinds, toys and porcelain. He loved going to fairs to see all the different kind of pigs and hogs.
Surviving James are his wife, Jocelyn; children, Christina (James) Allen and Daniel (Normandie) Latourelle; and grandchildren: Breelyn, Jaxyn, Tearsa, Akaisha, and Draven Latourelle.
Funeral services for Jim will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 13, 2019, at the Pleasant Grove Garden Stake Center, 1028 West 1000 North, Pleasant Grove. A time for viewing and sharing memories will be held at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow the services at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park Cemetery.
