Laura Lee Funk

On the morning of December 8, 2020, Laura Lee Funk rejoined her heavenly family and earned her eternal angel wings. She passed away surrounded by her loving family after a fierce battle with lung cancer. She was 58 years old.
Laura was the loving mother of 4 children. However, many people considered LaLa their Mom. Moms home was always a welcomed and safe space for all the neighborhood kids. She always ensured that every child who crossed her path was safe, healthy, and happy. She cared deeply for her friends and family and would do anything for them. Mom took great pride and joy in her children and grandchildren. She loved and adored her husband Grumpy, they rarely left each others side for more than 10 years. Anyone that knew her knew she was very strong willed, outspoken, brutally honest, and equally as loving.
LaLa was the life of the party. She had a fire for life that was unmatched. Even in her final days she would sit straight up when you told her the party was here. The world will be forever dim without her fire but we know the heavens are shining bright.
Her spunky personality, incredible hugs and infectious laugh will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Thank you Mom, your love changed our world. Until we meet again, we love you to the moon and back and more.
She is survived by her 4 children Rory Pendleton (Melanie), Jennifer Bell (Addam), Joshua Pendleton (Amanda), Tyler Bocek (Christina), 11 grandchildren. Her husband Robert Funk, his 3 kids and their numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her 3 brothers, Stephen Bocek, Joseph Bocek and Scott Bocek. She was welcomed to the Spirit world by her second husband James Hancock, her mother Virjean Bocek and Alice Johnson and her father Joseph Bocek.
Although we will not be having a public memorial for Laura, she has given her children very specific instructions as to where she wants her last resting places to be. A celebration of life is TBD.
