In Loving Memory
Michael Allen Sine
October 13, 1950 – August 24, 2026
Our dearly loved husband, father, and grandfather Michael Allen Sine was unexpectedly
called home to his Heavenly Father on August 24, 2026, while attending a family
reunion in Bellefontaine Ohio. He was born to George McCaskey Sine and Lotus
Charlene Tagg on October 13, 1950, and lived in many places in Ohio in his youth.
He attended Austintown Fitch High School in Youngstown Ohio, class of 1969, where he
enjoyed playing the drums as well as playing high school football. He also earned a BS
degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Weber State University, class 1979.
Michael served in the US Airforce for 16 years and was a Vietnam and Desert Storm
Veteran, and he was a commander in Elmadağ Turkey. During his service, he and his
wife, Donna had the opportunity to live in many places around the world including
Mississippi, Utah, Germany, Maryland, Illinois, Turkey, Nebraska, and then called West
Valley City Utah their home for the last 32 years.
He was stationed at Hill Air Force Base when he met his wife, Donna Moellendorf, in
1971. He was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in
1971, and they were married in 1972 in the Salt Lake Utah temple. They were married
for nearly 54 years. He was a devoted husband and father who loved his family deeply.
He was loved by many including his wife Donna, and their 7 children: Scott William Sine
(Brittany), Amy Marie Cox (Bryan), Trent Allen Sine (Kenna), Amber Rae Evans
(Robert), Grant Moellendorf Sine, Kirt Moellendorf Sine, Elliot Moellendorf Sine (Aspen),
as well as 17 grandchildren. He loved his family and enjoyed attending many special
occasions to celebrate them.
His membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was a central part of
his life, and he served in many callings including Elder’s Quorum, High Council, Young
Men’s, and Bishop of his local ward. He loved the Savior and strove to be a disciple of
Christ. He was quick to smile and laugh and always tried to serve others.
Aside from his family, Michael was passionate about Corvettes and loved to go on road
trips with Donna as members of the Corvette Club of Utah. They traveled many miles
on Route 66, as well as through many states. He also loved giving rides to his
grandkids for their birthdays, and loved to spend time with his kids and grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and his sisters Lisa Sine and Mona Sine.
He is survived by his wife and 7 children, and 17 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday September 11, 2026 at 10 am at the Granger West
9 th ward Bldg. 4460 W Courtney Dr West Valley Utah, with a viewing at 9:30 am.
Interment will be at 12:00 at Camp Williams Cemetery. 17800 south Redwood Rd.
