Ada Gean Madsen Giles

Ada Gean Madsen Giles, age 88, returned to her Heavenly Father and loved ones on Monday, October 27th, 2014 at her home in Bountiful Utah surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Rigby Idaho on September 20, 1926 to Daniel Fred and Lois Irene Baxter Madsen.

Gean loved the Lord and was an active member of the LDS faith. She served as a Relief Society President, Young Women's President, and was a great teacher to many. She loved to garden and especially loved to grow roses. She loved to serve others and could often be found making food and taking it to someone in need. She made great potato salad and would usually garnish it with the best flower in her garden. Gean loved to help others and was always trying to make them happy.

Gean and Harold served an LDS mission to Scotland in 1987 - 1989. They learned to love the Scottish people and several families have come to America to visit. They changed the branch through their love and made such a big difference to many in Elgin, the city they worked in and grew to love.

She is survived by her husband J. Harold Giles of Bountiful, Daughter Suzanne Bryson (Mike), Son Paul Giles (Gigi), Son Scott Giles (Ann), Daughter Jany Matson (Trey), Son Troy Giles (Teresa), and 68 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents Daniel and Lois Madsen, Brother Daniel Neal Madsen, and Brother Nile Baxter Madsen.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to all for their outpouring of love in this difficult time. Also to South Davis Hospice and Heritage Place for their loving care in the last few days of Mom's life. If Mom were here, she would give you all a big hug!!!

Graduation exercises (funeral) services will be held on Saturday, November 1st at the Val Verda 9th Ward LDS chapel located at 3317 South 800 West, Bountiful Utah. There will be a viewing starting at 11:30 followed by services at 1:00 p.m. Internment in the Leavitt's Aultorest Cemetery, 836 36th St, in Ogden Utah.
