Alan J Christensen

Alan joined his Father in Heaven, in what must have been a joyous reunion, on October 22, 2006. Alan was a devoted and loving Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Son, Brother, and Friend. Alan's life exemplified total service and dedication to others and to his Father in Heaven. Alan was born to Grant and Ora Christensen on October 19, 1953. He was the third of eight children. At the age of 19 Alan served an LDS Mission in Montana and Wyoming. He married his soul mate, the love of his life, Linda Marie Brinkerhoff on February 25, 1976 in the Salt Lake Temple. Alan and Linda have enjoyed their 30 years together, and their love shall endure throughout the eternities. Alan and Linda found their greatest joy in raising their six daughters. There has never been a father more loved, admired and cherished by his posterity. Alan had a way of making each of his six daughters feel special. Each one is proud to claim the title "Daddy's girl". Alan was dedicated to his work as a General Contractor. The beautiful homes that he built throughout the state stand as a witness to the perfect standard to which he held himself and his company. Above all, Alan was dedicated to the Savior, Jesus Christ and the Gospel. Alan's testimony is a light to all who ever knew him and that light shall forever illuminate our hearts. Alan spent his life building the Kingdom of God. He served in many callings throughout his life and magnified each one. Alan served for over 25 years in the Scouting and Young Men's programs. He always enjoyed serving as the ward Scoutmaster. Some of his fondest memories were of Scout camp and working with the youth. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Alan knew that his testimony of Jesus Christ was immeasurable. Throughout his courageous battle with cancer, he continually showed faith in the Lord and strengthened the faith of all those who stood by him through that difficult time. Alan is survived by his beloved wife, Linda. Children: Amy Christensen, Debbie (Jake) Bell, Jennifer (Clayton) Hansen, Kellie Christensen, Lacey Christensen, Emily Christensen and two grandchildren Olivia and Kendyl Bell. Mother, Ora Dean Christensen. Siblings: Ron (Becky) Christensen, Rosalie (Stan) Nance, Melinda (Eric) Jansen, Wayne (Donnie) Christensen, Brent (Sheila) Christensen, Karen Christensen. Alan was preceded in death by his father, Grant Christensen. Alan's passing was followed shortly by the passing of his friend and brother, Steven Christensen. Services to celebrate his life will be held at the River 7th Ward- 1570 W. 11400 S. SOUTH JORDAN, UT 84095 at 12:00 noon, Saturday, October 28, 2006.
