Alauna Ruth Hunt Dixon

Alauna Ruth Hunt Dixon, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and dearest friend unexpectedly passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of July 29, 2014 after a long battle with breast cancer. She was born to Levi and Virginia Hunt on February 24, 1946 in Provo, Utah. Shortly after her birth, her family relocated to Centerville, Utah where she grew up. In her youth she enjoyed playing the piano and had a love of arts and crafts. She graduated from Bountiful High School and eventually met the love of her life Michael G. Dixon. They were married on September 11, 1965 and were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on March 16, 1967. She and Michael settled down in Rose Park (Salt Lake City), Utah. It was there that they raised six children (5 boys and a princess). Alauna was an active member of the LDS church and served in many capacities including helping the young women in her ward over many years. She loved outdoor activities such as camping, boating and visiting Yellowstone National Park. She found her greatest joy in life attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, dance recitals, performances, etc. She was without a doubt their biggest fan! She is survived by her husband Michael, children: Mike (Sheila), Mark (Kristi), Wendy Abrath (Paul), Greg (Erica), Brian (Mandi), Darren (Brittany), 21 grandchildren, father Levi Hunt, brothers: Richard (Karen), Donald (Charla), David (Diane), sisters: Colleen Ririe (Ken), Sherrie Denson (Dan), many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Virginia Hunt. A viewing will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 6-8p.m. and Monday prior to the services from 10-10:45a.m. at the Rose Park North Stake Center @ 1155 N. 1200 W. in Salt Lake City, Utah. Funeral services will be on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 11a.m. also at the Rose Park North Stake Center. Interment at Bountiful Cemetery.
