FARR WEST- Alese Cunningham, 47, passed away Sunday January 27, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 25, 1965 to William Howard Umpleby and Iris Barton. Alese graduated from Davis High School and attended Dixie State College. She later attended Fran Brown School of Beauty and had a career in the field of cosmetology for over 25 years. She married Steve Knight and together they had one beautiful daughter, Aubrey Iris. They later divorced. Alese met her beloved husband, Barry Cunningham and was married May 1, 1999. Alese gained two step children Adam Cunningham and Christopher Cunningham. Alese loved her horses and all animals. She held many offices in the American Saddlebred Horse Association of Utah the last being president. She also was a chairperson for the Utah All Breed Horse Association, as well as an avid competitor. Alese was an active member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She held multiple callings, the latest being 1st counselor in the Relief Society in the Farr West 5th ward. Alese was a loving and caring person and always accommodated those around her to make sure all were happy. A viewing will be held on Friday February 1st from 6-8 pm at the Farr West 5th Ward located at 2565 West 3300 North, and again Saturday February 2nd from 9 am-1030. Her Service will then follow at 11 am. Internment will be at the Plain City Cemetery 4425 West 1975 North street at 1 pm. She is preceded in death by her father, mother, brother, sister, and nephew. Survived by husband Barry Cunningham, daughter Aubrey (RJ) Tatton, stepchildren Adam Cunningham, Christopher (Melissa) Cunningham, and grandchildren. The family wishes to express gratitude to the members of the Farr West 5th ward, As well as; Ogden Regional Medical Center, Huntsman Cancer Institute, and Advocate hospice.
