Andrew Ralston "Rallie" Brown

Andrew Ralston (Rallie) Brown passed away peacefully from this mortal life to join his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Feb. 14, 2022. He was 85 years old. Rallie was born in Buhl, Idaho on June 19, 1936 to Ernest and Ava Brown. He married his eternal sweetheart, Judy Workman on Oct. 14, 1983 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Rallie had various careers throughout his lifetime from when he was a very young man in which he was given extra responsibilities because of his integrity and work ethic. He retired from Welfare Services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after almost 30 years. He was instrumental in setting up the Deseret Mattress Factory and the Macaroni Plant for Church Welfare Services. Working in Unit Management, Physical Facilities Management, Truck Driver & Maintenance Management and Security for various Deseret Industries units throughout his career with Welfare Services, he always felt it was a calling rather than his job.

Rallie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved talking to people of all denominations and often shared his testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a most simple, yet profound way that was accepted by those with whom he shared. Rallie felt a great importance to serve young men through the BSA Scouting programs. Even when he didn’t have an official assignment, he was always donating his time, talents, and services whenever he could. Always cheerful in lending his handy-man talents to those around him, he was most happy when he was in the service of his fellow man, even if he didn’t know them. Rallie blessed the lives of those around him, often without realizing it.

His family was very important to him, even those he didn’t see often, and he loved it when they came to visit and always had a funny dad-joke or story from his life to share. He had a deep love and reverence for his wife and was devoted to her. Even when his body no longer allowed him to be a physical protector; his thoughts were always regarding her comfort.

Rallie is survived by his wife; his children: Kent (Debbie) Brown, Randy (Shauna) Brown, David Brown, Diana (John) Perry, Peter (Vanessa) Brown, Lisa (Joseph) Collett, Eric (Ragan) Brown, Andrew (Julianne) Brown, Sarah (Keane) Zidek, and Adam Brown; 28 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. He was the last of his family and was proceeded in death by his parents and his siblings: Robert, Melvin, Paul, Darwain, and Arlene; and his son Michael Brown. What a reunion it will be!

The family would like to express special thanks to members of Hunter 4th Ward for their love and compassion, especially during his last week of life; and the medical teams at Riverton Hospital for their kindness and care for his special needs.
