Ann Heitz Child (80), our beloved mother, wife, daughter, grandmother, sister, and friend returned home to her Heavenly Father on September 25, 2021. Ann was born on March 27, 1941 in Logan, Utah to Albert M and Verda Johnson Heitz. She is the third of five children.
Ann graduated from Ben Lomond High School and Seminary in 1959. She continued her education earning an Associate degree from Stevens Henegar College, in Ogden, Utah. She served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints in the Scotland Edinburgh Mission. She was a faithful member throughout her life, serving in the Primary and Cub Scouts.
She married her husband Charles Alan Child on September 10, 1969 in the Logan, Utah Temple. They raised a beautiful family of five children in the North Salt Lake, Utah area. She was the best wife and mother. Her entire life was dedicated to her family and all of their activities.
Ann was a remarkable daughter of our Heavenly Father. She made friends with everyone. She loved to give of her time serving anyone who needed her, especially her husband and children. She loved attending all of her children and grandchildrens' activities. She shared her talents of tole painting, making chocolates, decorating cakes, and making cards for everyone. She will be missed by all those she crossed paths with, especially her husband and children.
She is survived by her siblings, Al Heitz (Karen), Janae Penrod, Kent Heitz (Kathleen), Kathy Coleman (Richard) and her husband of 52 years, Charles Child. Her children Staci Hall (Andy), Jason Child (Kristy), Heather Poll (Monte), Jerlyn Cattaneo (Dan), and Wade Child (Camille), nineteen grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Verda Heitz.
Ann’s family would like to express their love and appreciation for all the love and support they have received through this difficult time.
Funeral services will be will be under the direction of Serenicare Funeral Home and will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021, at 11am in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints chapel at 650 South 200 East, Bountiful, Utah. There will be a viewing on Thursday, September 30th from 7-8:30pm at that same location and a viewing from 9:30-10:45 am the morning of the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Child Family to help with funeral expenses.
