Ann Lynne Gilchrist Anderson passed away on June 25, 2026, at age 62 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Surrounded by the family she loved so dearly, she died at the University of Utah Hospital from complications following a stroke.

Ann was the fourth child of John and Ruth Gilchrist and grew up in West Valley City, Utah. The smallest of six children, and she learned early how to hold her own, especially when it came to being first up the stairs for dinner.

She carried that lively, determined spirit throughout her life. As a young girl, Ann enjoyed softball and other sports. As a teenager, she became known for her strong work ethic during her years at KFC, where she also made many friends.

That same dependability showed at home. Her siblings were always glad to be paired with her for chores because they knew Ann would work hard and get the job done.

Ann graduated from Kearns High School and went on to earn an associate degree in accounting from Salt Lake Community College.

She later worked at her father’s CPA firm, where she became known as a trusted and dependable employee. Her dedication and reliability were evident in many ways, including her willingness to work every Saturday.

Ann married Barry Anderson and together they had two sons, Jaycub and Josh, whom she loved with all her heart. She also had two stepsons, Brandon Anderson and Drew Anderson, who always held a special place in her heart. Her love for her family was steady, generous, and deeply felt.

She is survived by her husband, Barry Anderson; her sons, Jaycub Anderson and Josh Anderson; her father, John Gilchrist; her siblings, Scott Gilchrist, Randall Gilchrist, Janet Willson, David Gilchrist, and Kathy Provost; and many others who knew and loved her.
