Audre Helen Ernst

Audre Helen Ernst quietly passed away July 17, 2022 in Lindon, Utah.  She was born March 6, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Wilford Nelson Jorgensen and Helen Elizabeth Trask.  She graduated from West High School.  She married Eddie Ray Ernst in 1952 and divorced in 1953.  Together they had a son, Larry.

Audre worked for many years and in various positions including telephone operator at Mountain States Telephone.  She retired with respect and love at the age of 62.

Audre was fierce, strong, kind and loved her family.  She could always be depended on to help in any way she could and wanted her grandkids and great-grandkids to be happy.  She found joy in spoiling them to no end.  She spent most of her life caring for those around her and showering them with all the affection and tenderness she had.  Audre enjoyed trips with her son and mother.  They spend many vacations visiting different canyons throughout the United States.  Together they would join different campfires and learn about the other people visiting those canyons at the time.  She loved to meet and learn about new people.  A dream came true for her when she visited Israel with her brother after retiring.  Together they were able to walk where their Savior walked and see how He lived.  This experience brought Audre better understanding of Jesus Christ and helped her come closer to Him.  .

She loved Christmas! You could always expect every room in her house to be decked out at Christmas every year.  A great memory she left for granddaughters was taking each of them to the doll show with her.  She loved dolls! Collecting them and making them herself.  She made sure each granddaughter got to select a doll they liked from the doll show to take home.  She was an expert seamstress and made some beautiful items from blankets to needlework to clothes. She loved archeology - Ancient Egypt was her favorite.  Though she never got to visit Egypt, she spend a lot of time learning about it and sharing what she learned with her friends and family.  She made delicious candy, mostly chocolates and toffees, and was always willing to share them with everyone.  You could count on finding some hidden in her purse whenever you felt the need for something sweet.

She is survived by her son Larry (Michele) Ernst; grandchildren; Jennette (Brant) Christiansen, Taunya Ernst, Linsay Ernst, Christina (Nick)Telfer and James Ernst; great-grandchildren: Cheryl and Eleanor Christiansen and Chloe Telfer.

She was greeted in Heaven by her parents, her sister Gerry and by her brother, Ronald.
