Bush Opal Nancy Rowley

Opal Nancy Rowley-Bush, LPN, 65, passed away peacefully with family by her side, on January 16th, 2014, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Nancy, as she was known by family and friends was born on June 20th, 1948 in Ashland, Kansas to Doyle and Armilda Rowley, the youngest of three children . In 1967 she graduated Dodge City High School, and later went on to enlist and honorably serve in the United States Navy Medical Corps, to care for the wounded returning from Vietnam. In 1977 she married John Stephen Bush, in Heber City Utah, and was sealed to him in the Salt Lake Temple in 1978. John preceded her in death after 34 years of marriage. Her interest in nursing inspired her to earn her nursing degree in 1984 from Salt Lake Community College. This began a successful nursing career that spanned over 30 years, serving Utah's elderly community in the field of geriatric medicine and hospice care. In her spare time, she loved to cook, crochet, and watch Godzilla movies. She was a very deeply caring person, who always had an ear to lend to anybody who needed her. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Susan Ruesch; siblings, Patricia Reeves and Richard Rowley; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. For those wishing to celebrate her life with us, funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 21st at the Butler 27th Ward Building, 1848 E 7200 S, Bishop Larson officiating. A time of visiting will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. Until the time of the service. Interment will be in Utah Veteran's Cemetery and Memorial Park.
