Carol Ann (Marian) Gritzmacher

Carol Ann (Marian) Gritzmacher was a tidal wave trapped in a raindrop. A larger than life personality that blessed this world with her mortal presence from February 13,1974 to March 20, 2025. With a personality so bold and passionate, if you got to know her for a minute, you would undoubtedly remember her for a lifetime. She was incredibly charismatic, and found great joy in meeting people, socializing, and sharing her very positive energy. Her natural beauty certainly didn't hurt that contagious joy you would receive just from being in her presence.

Carol lived life more fully than most people could comprehend. Everything she did was with the volume turned up full blast. She loved fiercely, and was so ambitious that nothing could stand in her way. She had the mental (and physical) strength of a super hero. She was always in for a wild adventure or adrenaline rush, and was passionate at everything she did. She was extremely competitive and naturally talented at just about everything. She always did things her own way, and nothing could stand in her way (If you tried, you probably met the bold warrior in her). "I can't" was an unacceptable phrase that was not welcomed in her presence. She would motivate you to be as brave and strong as she was in every aspect of life.

Her competitive nature won her several prestigious awards. This included the Mrs. Utah award in dancing and gymnastics, and multiple awards in her snowboarding career. She had a beloved pit bull "Grizzly" that developed his own fame through her training in weight pulling competitions. She applied that same passion and energy in support of her 2 sons Drake and Vaughn. They found great success in, and have received multiple awards and accomplishments for wrestling, and football. This is the family accomplishment that she was most proud of.

Carol's last chapter of life was spent beating many odds, but you never would have guessed it when you were around her. She refused to be a victim, or let cancer rob her of her spirit and happiness. She was battling stage 4 cancer, working 2 jobs, raising her family as a single mother, and going through rigorous chemotherapy and radiation. But in typical Carol fashion, she didn't let this stand in her way. She still pushed herself to exercise daily, and never let it break her spirits. She still lived just as boldly as always in her final days.

Carol had a tremendous impact on this world, and was truly a blessing to anyone who knew her. She will be missed greatly. May the veil be thin enough to feel her presence, and provide us with her contagious joy and strength.

Carol is survived by the greatest joys of her life- sons Drake (Sydnee) Gritzmacher and Vaughn Gritzmacher. She also leaves behind a sister- Candi (Rick) Hall, brother Ray (Linda) Marian, brother Robert (Sheri) Nixon, several neices and nephews, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, JoAnn King Way, maternal grandmother, Dorothy King, and cousin Christy Maddalone. She surely had a joyous reunion with her best friend and love of her life, Jeff Stonebreaker.
