Clarissa Jane Weathersby

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Clarissa Jane Weathersby, 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 3, 2013 in Phoenix, Arizona surrounded by her loving family. Jane was born October 12, 1930 in Tucson, Arizona to Joseph Edwin Knudsen and Alice Clyde Norton Knudsen. She married her sweetheart, Neuel Junior Weathersby at the Mesa Arizona Temple on May 19, 1949. After graduating from Safford High School in Safford, Arizona, Jane devoted her time to her family, church, and community. She served in many church callings and on a local mission with her husband. She was also active with Future Homemakers of America and taught 4H. She enjoyed assisting elderly relatives and drove a school bus for special needs children. Jane loved to cook, was great at it, and won many awards. Jane is survived by her children, Cynthia (David) Stout, Scott (Jeri) Weathersby, Claudia (Val) Baumann, N. Edwin (Cheryl) Weathersby, William (Ginger) Weathersby. She is also survived by her 25 wonderful grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren with 4 more due this year; and her sister, Marie Clifford. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Pinnacle Vista Ward Building, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3527 W. Happy Valley Road, Phoenix, Arizona. A viewing will be held at the church from 9:00 am - 10:30 am prior to the service where friends and family may call. Interment will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Central Cemetery located in Central, Arizona. A special thanks to Mary Smith (sister-in-law) for her love and assistance in care for Jane and Serenity Hospice for the wonderful care provided.
