Daniel Braga Figueiredo

With immense sorrow in our hearts, we announce the passing of Daniel Braga Figueiredo, which occurred on July 12, 2025, at the age of 31, in American Fork, Utah. Born on November 8, 1993, in Curitiba, Brazil, Daniel was a man whose light, love, and devotion to God left a deep impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The only child of Wilson Figueiredo da Silva and Wanilma Braga Figueiredo, Daniel was raised in a home filled with love and faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ. From an early age, he displayed a joyful, generous, and determined spirit—qualities that only grew stronger with time. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as an exemplary missionary in Porto Alegre (2012–2014), where he touched many lives with his unwavering faith, pure heart, and tireless desire to serve.

Daniel met the love of his life, Bruna, while they were both serving as FSY counselors in 2014. Their love story began with sacrifice and courage. They dated for three years and built a gospel-centered home together, where joy, laughter, and the teachings of the Savior were lived daily. Married since 2017, they were blessed with three wonderful children: Benjamin (5), Samuel (2), and baby Leo (1 month).

Daniel was a present, loving, and devoted father—a true hero to his children. He always prioritized their upbringing. Together with Bruna, he created cherished family traditions like coordinating Halloween costumes, summer camping trips, and the tradition of taking family photos every Sunday after church (afterchurchfigueiredos)—memories that are now treasured beyond measure. In a beautiful act of daily love and compassion for his wife, Daniel would set aside his own tasks each evening to bathe the boys, apply their lotion, play their special songs—“Little Hands” for Benjamin, “Who You Are” for Samuel, and “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” for baby Leo—and lovingly put them to bed.

His love for Bruna was evident in everything he did. He was known for always putting her first—a loyal, kind, and thoughtful husband. With a fun-loving and humorous personality, Daniel was easily recognized by his contagious laugh, optimism, lightheartedness, and his gift for making everyone around him feel loved. He found joy in preparing meals for Bruna—like Japanese food, poke bowls, French toast, and his famous eggs—and savored the simple moments of life with gratitude and happiness.

Daniel was a man of unshakable faith, courage, and integrity. Humble, obedient, responsible, and committed to excellence in all he did. In his youth, he was a state champion in the 100-meter dash, and just three weeks before his passing, he had fulfilled his dream of beginning his MBA—proof of his constant dedication to personal and professional growth, even amid the responsibilities of family life. His pursuit of excellence was driven by an eternal purpose: to be a faithful provider and diligent servant of the Lord.

To his friends, Daniel was known as Juvenal—his nickname from school days. He was the best friend of Luciano Magalhães and the inseparable cousin of Mateus Lima. He dearly loved his dog, Pingo, a loyal companion for nearly two decades. He will be remembered by the youth of his ward as a sincere friend, charismatic leader, and faithful disciple of Christ.

Daniel’s viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 22, at 5:00 p.m. (Utah time) at the chapel located at 450 N 1220 W, Provo, Utah. The burial will take place on Wednesday, July 23, at 11:00 a.m., at Maeser Park, also in Provo.

All who knew him hold the certainty that Daniel lived a life full of purpose and love. As Bruna and all who love him can testify, he was the most faithful person in every role—in marriage, fatherhood, friendship, work, studies, and in his discipleship to Christ. His beloved wife, now filled with immeasurable longing, expresses her gratitude, saying:

“Thank you for everything you did and were. For all you transformed me into and gave me.”

Sandra, Daniel’s mother-in-law, proudly says that Bruna became an even better person after her years by Daniel’s side—and he would often say, with love and humor:

“Every year, Bruna gets prettier and less annoying.”

A lighthearted expression that now highlights the enduring impact of living alongside such a good and radiant man.

We firmly believe in the words of the Savior:

“I am the resurrection, and the life; he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”

(John 11:25)

Daniel leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and example. His absence will be deeply felt, but his presence will continue to live on in the hearts of Bruna, Benjamin, Samuel, Leo, his parents, extended family, and all who loved him. His life was a quiet testimony that true discipleship is lived daily—with love, service, loyalty, and faith.

His legacy remains unshakable. May his spirit continue to inspire those who move forward with hope, courage, and the promise of eternal reunion.
