Darien Evyn Gulde was born on November 14, 2007, in Henderson, Nevada, and passed away on September 11, 2026, in St. George, Utah. He was just 18 years old and had recently begun his freshman year at Utah Tech studying biology.
Darien had a legendary sense of humor. A devoted lover of dad jokes and an expert at rage baiting, he had a special talent for making people laugh, groan, and shake their heads, often all at the same time. He loved his family and friends deeply, had a huge heart for animals, and never met a snack he didn’t appreciate. Above all, Darien was a true sugar fiend, and those who knew him best will forever smile when they think of his love for anything sweet.
Darien also genuinely loved his job at Dutch Bros. He loved the people he worked with, the friendships he made there, and being part of the Dutch Bros family. It became another place where Darien was simply Darien, bringing his personality and laughter with him wherever he went.
As we grieve the heartbreaking loss of Darien and the bright future that should have been his, we also hold tightly to the countless memories he gave us. We cherish the laughter, the jokes, the love, and all the little things that made him so completely and uniquely Darien.
Darien is survived by his parents, Krystal and Sean LaGrow, and Justin and Sierra Gulde; his sisters, Kora, Jaspen, and Wynter Herrera; and his brothers, Cooper, Bennett, Jonah, and Elijah Gulde.
He is also survived by his grandparents, Kay Deluca, Bryan and Margaret LaGrow, Tina and Jerry Gulde, and Katie and Bo Wicklund; his great-grandmother, Sue Haney; his aunts, Megan Kanowitz, Kodi Schultz, Kandee Schultz, Mya Wicklund, and Rileigh Rendon; his uncles, Andrew Gulde and Kevin Kanowitz; and his cousins, Declan, Ava, and Camden Kanowitz.
Darien was preceded in death by his uncle, Christopher Gulde; his aunt, Xasha Pavlides; and his beloved dogs, Layla and Butter.
Darien leaves behind a family and community who loved him beyond measure. He was deeply loved, and he will be deeply missed.
