David Glen Orr Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, at the Bennion Veterans Home in Payson, Utah. He was 76 years old.
Born on November 6, 1948, in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, David lived a life marked by love, service, and adventure. At the age of 19, he joined the U.S. Navy and bravely served his country during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1971.
In 1973, David met the love of his life, LeeAnn. They were engaged just four days later and married on November 8, 1973. Over the next 51 years, they built a beautiful life together, filled with deep love, resilience, and joy.
Throughout his life, David pursued many trades but ultimately found his calling in the transportation industry, founding his own business, Skull Valley Trucking. He was a hard worker, proud of his accomplishments, and always ready to take on a new challenge.
David was a devoted family man who celebrated every success of his children and grandchildren. His greatest joy was spending time with them, sharing stories, laughter, and lessons learned. Known for his outgoing personality, quick wit, and legendary tall tales, David had a sharp sense of humor and wore his “smart ass” badge with pride.
For the past five years, David called the Bennion Veterans Home his home, where he formed many meaningful friendships with fellow veterans who shared in his camaraderie and spirit.
David is survived by his loving wife, LeeAnn Orr; his children David Orr Jr., Jamie (Todd) Hascall, and Jynae Orr; and his cherished grandchildren Shelby, Aidan, Ian, Ailey, Isaac, Eli, and Sawyer. He is also survived by his siblings Gordon (Janice) Orr, Delilah Brinkerhoff, Evah Ann (Kelly) Powelson, Bonnie (Roger) Swenson, Scott (Becki) Orr, and Michele (Paul) Wilcoxson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Park and Eva Mitchell Orr; his sister Leslie Orr; and his brother-in-law James Brinkerhoff.
