In Loving Memory of David “Dave” Val Petersen
David Val Petersen passed away on July 25, 2026, at the age of 53, leaving behind a life defined by hard work, resilience, quiet generosity, and deep love for those closest to him.

Dave had a natural gift for making people laugh. His jokes often made even better by his own laughter at them. His humor was infectious, and whether the joke was clever or corny, he had a way of brightening any room. Friends and family will always remember the joy he brought just by being himself.

He took pride in honest work and doing things the right way. If he didn’t know how to do something, he learned.Through determination and curiosity, Dave became someone who could fix almost anything.

Dave was open about his past and the challenges he faced, believing his story might help others. He wanted people to know that no matter where life takes you, it’s always possible to rebuild, grow, and choose a better path.

He had a deep appreciation for his Danish heritage and Viking roots, embracing the adventurous spirit he felt connected to. Whether scuba diving, skydiving, rock climbing, or simply being outdoors, Dave felt most at peace in nature. He found joy in simple moments.

Above all, David loved his family. He was loyal, protective, and showed his love through actions more than words.Whether offering advice, sharing knowledge, helping with a project, making someone laugh, or simply showing up when needed, he gave freely of himself.

David’s legacy is not what he owned, but the lives he touched, the people he helped, and the example he set. He will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and all who were lucky enough to have known him.He is survived by his loving wife, April Booth; his children, Alyssa, Ivy, Ethen, Brooklyn, and Brianna; his mother, Ruth; his siblings Shari (Wayne), Lori (Ed), Craig (Sandra), Mark (Cindy), Lynette (Bart), and Bryan (Francisco); along with many extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were enriched by knowing him. He was preceded in death by his father, Val B Petersen.

Dave’s memory will live on through the countless lives he touched, and the many memories shared with those who loved him. Though he is gone far too soon, the love, laughter, wisdom, and strength he gave to others will remain with us forever.
