Loved by All Who Knew Her
Our loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Deena Michele Acree, passed away at home on January 10, 2021. Michele was born on September 14, 1967 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Pete and Anita Van Lieshout. She married Christopher (Topher) Acree on July 22, 2006 and garnered two wonderful sons, Taylor and Tyson Acree. She loved the boys very much as did the rest of her family. Michele loved watching the boys play football, baseball, and rugby. They enjoyed doing things as a family they and spent many hours playing games and watching movies together. Michele was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Michele was a sweet, giving, self-sacrificing person. She was the loving protector for friends and family and everyone she knew. She loved to travel and especially loved her trips to Holland, South Carolina, and Arizona with family. She had many talents and interests and loved music. She played the piano, flute and piccolo. Michele was highly intelligent and started playing chess at the age of 5. She was exceptionally smart in math and technology and was our family’s technological assistant along with her husband, Topher. She graduated from Westminster College in 1998 with a BA in Accounting. She was most recently employed by Cross and Associates, Inc.
Michele is survived by her husband, Christopher Acree, her stepsons Taylor (Jenny) Acree and Tyson Acree; her mother, Anita Van Lieshout, her sister, Mary (Brian) Edwards; her parents-in law, Randy and Cheryl Acree; her siblings-in-law Candice (Donny) Mallicoat, and Ryan Acree; her aunt, Betty Van Lieshout, her uncles, Larry (Bess)Strong, Kurt Decker, and James Dailey; many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Pete Van Lieshout, her uncle Joe Strong, her aunt Patty Strong Dailey, and her uncles, Henk Van Lieshout and Gerard Van Lieshout, and her loving grandparents.
A memorial service for family and close friends will be held on Saturday, January 30, at 11 am at the Willow Grove Ward, 1945 W 9000 S, West Jordan, Utah. Due to the Covid-19 virus, there is a restriction on the number of attendees. The service will be streamed live on Saturday at 11:00

After the memorial service please join us for a Celebration of Life at Hilton Garden Inn at 277 West, Sego Lily Drive, Sandy, Utah. from 12:30 -3:30 p.m.
