Dennis L. Gehrig

Dennis L Gehrig made peace with his God and joined Him in Eternal Life on June 30, 2006. He struggled and lived the last part of his life devoted to one day at a time and being sober. He was born June 14, 1947 to Arthur and Lela Gehrig and was the twin and best friend of Donald L Gehrig. He also had an older brother David Gehrig who he is now in the company of.
Dennie served his country proudly in the US Army. Dennie was surrounded by the people he loved and the people that loved him during his final days. He leaves behind his wife, friend, caretaker and love of his life, Kathy Anthon Gehrig who was by his side and helped him thru the transition to the next adventure, sending him lovingly on his path to his God, and His Father, Mother and Brother who have preceded him from this life to the next. He will be greeted by so many family members and friends to help him accept the sorrow of leaving his children he cherished, Joseph Burke (Laurie) Gehrig, Amy Jeannette (Ralph) Hall, Tina Marie Gehrig, Betty (Ron) Taylor, Miranda (George) Collard and Jeffery James Anthon. His grandchildren who adored him and lit up his life. Many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins whose closeness who were unmeasurable. His mother and father-in-law Shirley and George Larson, and brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin Owen, Patsi and Jack Miller, Mary and Dennis Richardson, Shirlee and John Saunders and Mike and Linda Owen.
Dennie had lifelong friends who he loved so much, as well as new friends that supported him in his sobriety. Thank you! Special thanks and farewell to the doctors that became friends too; Dr. Curt Stock, Dr. Richard Frame, Dr. Jeffery DeGrauw and their staff. Also, Harmony Hospice (Sheila Larsen) for easing the pain from the many cancers he was inflicted with. Special thanks to Cathy Glover who holds such a special place in Dennie and Kathy's hearts as well as the ACT center for not giving up on him. Thank you John and Adam for the many blessings that you administered and the prayers that were said. Special thanks to Hill AFB fuels and everyone else who donated time for Kathy to care for Dennie during his final months. There aren't words enough to express the gratitude to everyone.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at the Woodland Park Ward, 2300 North 1200 West in Layton. Interment will follow at Washington Heights Memorial Park in Ogden. Arrangements by SereniCare, Funeral Directors.
