Our sweet, sweet baby girl, Devon Justine Greer, age 15 months passed away Friday, December 8, 2006, in Saratoga Springs due to a rare, tragic accident involving the child's car seat she was sleeping in.
Devon was born on Thursday, August 25th 2005 to her parents Ian and Meredeith Greer. She was our 'surprise baby'. She had messy, crazy, light brown hair that defied taming and beautiful blue eyes with amazing eyelashes. She was just learning to walk short distances. Devon loved to be with her mom and dad and anyone who would hold her. She liked to chew on tooth brushes, play with television remote controls and eat toast. Devon loved to watch cartoons with her sisters which brought the sweetest smile to her face. Her favorite cartoons were Bambi and Dumbo.
She was such a sweet baby. Her daddy would call her "Grump-o-lumpolos" when she was grumpy, and her mommy would call her "Pee pee" (just because it was funny) and "Scratchy". She was the cutest Piglet for Halloween this year with her slowly emerging gap-toothed smile.
There are so many things we'll miss about Devon that we can't even enumerate them all. Everyone loved her and our hearts break with her passing.
She is survived by her father and mother, two older sisters; Lily, age 7 and Lydia, age 2 1/2. Her grandparents are Herb and Kathy Greer of Provo, Russ and Rosemary Federico of Provo and Kathy Olson of Saint George. Devon's great grand parents are Helen McEuen of Orem and Ralph and Gloria Kuhni of Provo. Devon is also survived by uncles; Keith, Wes, Thayne, Nathan, Cole & Kenny and aunts; Jenni, Rebecca, Laura, Suzanne, Mary, and Susan. Devon had many cousins and other relations who loved her.
We would like to express gratitude and love to Heather Mecham and her family who loved and cared for Devon as her own daughter. We would also like to express gratitude to Saratoga Springs EMS, Life Flight and UVRMC's ER department for their heroic efforts in attempting to resuscitate Devon.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec 13 at 11:00am at the Harvest Hills LDS Chapel, 1950 Harvest Moon Dr, Harvest Hills subdivision in Saratoga Springs.
