Diane P. Berg

Our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and friend, Diane Price Berg affectionately known as “Snooks” passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on May 26, 2025. Diane was born on January 25, 1935, in Daniel, Utah, to Parley and Delsa Price. One of five children, Diane grew up in a close-knit family and was actively involved at Wasatch High School, where she helped plan dances and events, forming friendships and memories that would last a lifetime.

After graduation, Diane embarked on an adventurous journey to Baltimore, Maryland. It was her first time away from home, and during this formative chapter, she worked at a soda fountain, a pivotal experience that shaped her young adulthood. Eventually, she returned home to Heber, Utah. It was in Heber that Diane met the love of her life, William “Bill” Berg, while working at The Exchange. Although Bill soon returned to his family in California, their connection remained strong. Through months of heartfelt letters, they became devoted pen pals and fell in love. Diane and Bill were married on April 26, 1957, in the Salt Lake Temple. They settled first in Heber, then moved to Southern California to be near the Berg family. During their time there, they welcomed their first daughter, Julee. Later, they moved to Millcreek, Utah, where Bill built their family home. It was in this home that Jennifer and Meridee were born, and where countless cherished family memories were made.

Diane and Bill shared a passion for travel, whether it was camping, cruising, or exploring abroad.  In 1971, they bought a fifth-wheel trailer and began a lifelong tradition of traveling the country with their daughters. Camping trips remained a treasured family activity even as their daughters grew and had families of their own. That love of camping continues today through their children and grandchildren.

Diane’s greatest joy was being a mother. Thanks to Bill’s support, she was able to stay home with her girls, a role she fully embraced. As Elder M. Russell Ballard once said, “There is no role in life more essential and more eternal than that of motherhood.”  Diane embodied this truth every day. She took pride in being there for her daughters, always home to greet them after school, always their biggest supporter.

Diane was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings throughout her life. In her later years, this service was returned to her in a deeply meaningful way.  She adored Andy, Jordan, Dave, and Wyatt, who visited her each Sunday to administer the sacrament.  Not only did they fulfill this sacred responsibility, they became invaluable friends offering presence, care, and genuine companionship that Diane cherished.

A natural nurturer, Diane was known for her boundless compassion. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel heard, valued, and loved. Whether celebrating a major milestone or a small success, Diane’s encouragement was unwavering. Her love was a constant presence—never quiet, always felt.

Diane is survived by her devoted daughters: Julee (Doug) Stewart, Jennifer (Harry) Kambouris, and Meridee (Brandon) Swenson; her eight beloved grandchildren: Brandon, Ashlee, Alex, Kristopher, Katie, Hunter, Haylee, and Easton; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William “Bill” Berg; her precious granddaughter, Savannah Zabriskie; her siblings, Calvin Price and Gloria Price; and her sister-in-law, Janice Price.

The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to Jamie, Archie, and Serena for their loving care during Diane’s final months. A special thank you goes to our angel, Minnie, who cared for our mother as if she were her own. Your generosity and compassion will never be forgotten.
