Dustin Steven Pearson, 32, passed away tragically on May 23, 2025.
He was born March 1, 1993, and from the start, he was full of curiosity, a big heart, and a fierce love for animals, especially dogs. One of the last things he asked for were photos of them. They saved him more times than most people ever knew.
As a child, he was a wild boy who loved being outside, always climbing fences, exploring, and up to something. He loved to read, especially books that made him think. He could get lost in video games for hours, and for a time, even found peace in gardening. He had a soft spot for all animals, not just dogs, and proudly cared for a turtle as a kid.
He is survived by his parents, Dale Pearson and Robyn Pearson, and siblings Patty (Christina), Devin (Nina), and Ariel (Scott). He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews: Rowdy, River, Raylin, Sonny, Rocky, Rhodes, Archie, Birdie, and Savvy each of whom he loved in his own way. We hope he’s now reunited with his Grandpa Dave, who always meant so much to him.
Though Dustin’s story ended in pain, that’s not the whole story. He was more than his hardest days. He was smart, funny, clever, and deeply sensitive. His life mattered. He was loved. And he will be missed.
An open house to honor Dustin will be held on Friday, May 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. at City View Mortuary, 1001 E 11th Ave, Salt Lake City, UT 84103.
