Elisa Lee Coccimiglio was born in Hayward, California, the youngest of 5 children to Genie and Winston Lee on July 4, 1977. She was the much-desired baby girl to complete the Lee family who later moved to Orem, UT and eventually to the Springdell community of Provo, UT.

Elisa enjoyed a taste of adventure and travel in her teens and early 20’s when she worked as a nanny for Scott and Heidi Lazerson helping them raise their two kids. Elisa wholly enjoyed travelling the world with them to places as far flung as the Bahamas, Malibu Beach, Hawaii, and Jackson Hole Wyoming.

Elisa married Anthony Coccimiglio in 2003 and after a Honeymoon in Guatemala became so much more than a stepmother to Anthony’s children Christopher and Danielle from a prior marriage – growing the spirit of care and tenderness she’d showered on the children she’d nannied to a whole new level within her new family.

Ultimately Elisa was blessed with the birth of her own joy and treasure, Gates Kari Frances Coccimiglio on September 21st of 2004. Elisa forged a fast friendship with Chris and Danielle’s mother Tammy Greer and worked tirelessly to create a cohesive blended family both during and after her marriage.

Struggling as she did with a variety of heartbreaking illnesses including Thymoma, Myasthenia Gravis, eventual total blindness, and a devastating car accident, she never lost her inquisitive and caretaking spirit. She became very interested in the Self-Help and Spiritual community as well as attending the School for the Blind to maximize every learning and accessibility tricks of the trade she could including participation in a few charities including the Utah Federation of the Blind. Refusing to be limited by any of her setbacks, she continued to expand and grow her friendships both within and without of the church community. Her indomitable spirit and wry sense of humor coupled with her irrepressible empathy lessened the load for so many of the people who crossed her path. She had a rare talent for listening and truly hearing people and a fantastic sense of humor that could really delight and surprise no matter what the topic.

Elisa was never defined by her physical challenges or illnesses and was often the person telling others how lucky she was and listing out her blessings. Being a mother to all 3 of her blended family was one of her singular joys and something she prioritized highly.

Elisa passed away on September 16, 2023, quietly in her sleep. Her long fight to overcome physical realities has ended.

Elisa is survived by her daughter Gates, her parents Winston and Genie Lee, her siblings Kirk Eldon and Kari and has now joined her beloved brother Jared.

Funeral Services will be held and the LDS Chapel 4300 N Canyon Rd. Provo, UT September 26 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in the Orem Cemetery next to her brother Jared Lee.

The service will be available on YouTube:  Provo Canyon ward Sacramant Meeting.
