Ellen Joy Wessman, 80, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017 with her family gathered around her. Ellen was born the sixth child of Thorlief and Margaret Larsen on November 11, 1936. She is survived by one sister, Belva Arnell.

Ellen grew up on 15th Street in Ogden. She attended Ogden High and graduated from Ben Lomond High. She attended Stevens-Henager College and graduated as a key punch operator. She also trained at Painters Beauty School.

Ellen met her sweetheart, Henry “Hank” H. Wessman Jr. at the ward movie. They married in the Logan Temple on November 27, 1954. They raised their four children: Kim (Joe) Allen , Rick (JoAnn), Terri (deceased), and Troy (Darby) in a great neighborhood and ward in Sunset. She is further survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way.

Ellen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She had a firm testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She supported her companion in all of his callings. She was also Young Women President, Primary, Sunday School, and Relief Society Teacher. Most importantly she taught her children perseverance of the love of Christ and Family.

She loved to swim, play tennis, bike ride, and family trips to the Homestead.

Mom has been without Dad for 26 years and we are happy for them to be together again.

A graveside service was held at Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park.
