Erma V.B. Hicks
Erma VB Hicks, mother, grandmother, and sister, age 87, passed away peacefully in her home with loving family around on Nov. 27, 2006. She was born September 6, 1919 to William Charles and Hendricka Johanna Allda Smirl in Roosevelt, Utah. She had 6 sisters and 1 brother. She married Cleve Charles James and together they had 11 children, 7 boys and 4 girls. She later married James Virgil Hicks on August 12, 1971.
Erma loved to sing and dance. She served in many church positions.
She is preceded in death by both husbands and two sons: Paul Cleve James and Charles Alma James (Joann). She is survived by Theola Dedericksen, William Alan (Diana) James, Charlotte (Clinton) Miller, Marcia (Charlie) Roesberry, Dan James, Steven James, Randy (Jean) James, Pamela (Doug) Thomas, Scott (Ruth) James. At her passing she had 61 grandchildren and 83 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 am on Thursday Nov. 30 at the Syracuse 6th Ward, 2339 West 1900 South, Syracuse. Viewing at the church beginning at 9:30 am. Interment at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, south Ogden.
