Estelle Zina Sanofsky

Estella Zina Wold Sanofsky passed away at the age of 94 years, in her home in Farr West, Utah, early Friday morning, November 16, 2018, due to old age. Estelle, as her family and friends knew her, was born to Rolf Christian Wold and Zina Estella Woolf on June 25, 1924, Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was the sixth and last child born to them. Within hours of Estelle’s birth, her mother passed away. All of her life, she has looked forward to meeting her mother, and we are comforted now with the thought of their sweet reunion.

Estelle was raised by two of her mother’s sisters and three stepmothers, all of whom were wonderful women, that she loved dearly. During high school she lived with her paternal grandmother, Annie Nielsen Wold, and attended and graduated from Ammon High School. Good friends were especially important to her during that time and throughout her life.

Estelle suffered from a heart condition and at the age of 21 yrs. old, she traveled to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, for open-heart surgery on December 4, 1945.

In December 1946, she moved to San Francisco, where she met Warren Edwin Sanofsky at Presidio Army Base in October 1948. They were married on February 5, 1949, and left for Chicago, Warren’s hometown, a couple months later. They lived in the Chicago area for most of their married life where they raised their four children. After retirement, they traveled in a motor home for several years, visiting family and friends, with a final stop in North Port, Florida. Eighteen months ago, they moved closer to family.

Estelle loved her family, they were most important in her life, as well as her membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many church auxiliary positions during her lifetime, as well as an ordinance worker in the Chicago LDS Temple. She enjoyed socializing with friends, neighbors and people at church. They loved her for her friendliness, sense of humor and caring nature.

Estelle is survived by her loving husband of almost 70 years, Warren Sanofsky, her daughter, Kristine (Phil) Cramer, and three sons, Kenneth (Teresa) Sanofsky, Kerry (Eileen) Sanofsky and Keith (Kathy) Sanofsky, 16 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and their spouses, Darrel (Zera) Wold, Wilba (Carl) Borrowman, Woodrow (Ruth) Wold, Ollean (Birdel) Wold, Lamont (Lois) Wold and great-grandson, Oliver Jack Sanofsky.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints building at 2123 N 2000 W, Farr West, Utah. A time of visitation will be held at the church on the same day from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM.
