Evelyn Matson Tronier

Evelyn Matson Tronier,Our beautiful mother died of natural causes on August 4, 2014. She was 85 years old. Evelyn was born on March 21, 1929 in LaBelle, Idaho to Edith Pearl Morgan Matson and Lorenzo Edward Matson. She was raised in Labelle, Idaho and attended a one room school house until middle school, when she was bused into Rigby to complete her secondary education. She later attended BYU and then LDS Business College in Salt Lake (where she resided at the Beehive House, which was used as a dormitory at the time). In 1954, she married G. Keith Tronier in the Idaho Falls Temple. Evelyn and Keith had six children and were later divorced. Evelyn was highly intelligent and exceptionally good natured. She was very sweet up until the very end, but she also had a quick, quiet wit and could be very funny. Evelyn did secretarial work over the years at various places, but finished her career as a secretary for the School of Social Work at the University of Utah. She considered her most important work to be that of being a mother, at which she truly excelled. She was exceedingly patient, and always a generous, kind and loving mother. She understood and appreciated each of us uniquely. Many people likely believe they had the best mother, but in fact, we actually had her. Evelyn is survived by her brother, Jerry (Barbara) Matson, her sister Judy (Bruce) Godfrey, her stepson, Stephen (Arlene) Tronier, and her children David Tronier, Suzanne Tronier, John (Kelly) Tronier, Julianne (Todd) Tronier, Gary Tronier & Michelle Tronier. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the LDS Sugarhouse Ward 1621 S 1100 E, Salt Lake City, UT at 1 pm on Saturday, August 9. Viewing and visiting hours are 11- 1 before the service. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.serenicare.com.
