Frank John Brill

"Ask and ye shall receive, knock and it shall be opened unto you." November 3, 2006, the knock was heard and the door opened to a loved husband, admired father, respected grandfather and adored great grandfather. Frank John Brill passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 76 after a nine year battle with cancer. The battle was pretty one sided. Due to his courage and strength, grandpa outlasted even the most optimistic estimates, and left a legacy with his family and friends that will last for generations.
Frank was born on July 26, 1930, in St Louis, Missouri to Frank Bruce and Margaret Mary Gorham Brill, he moved to Southern California, and then to Kanosh, Utah. At the age of 17 Frank decide to serve his country in the Navy. He served courageously in Guam, Korea, and aboard the USS Kearsage during the Korean War where he received the China Expeditionary Medal for being aboard the first U.S. Naval ship to return to China.
While in the service Frank married Jean Sinclair and they were blessed with three children, the marriage later ended in divorce. He worked for fifteen years as an Assembly Foreman with Ford Motor Company. After coming back to Utah Frank met the "love of (his) life," Edna Robinson, and after just a ten day courtship they were married September 24, 1972 and have been happily married since.
He and Edna worked together as Division Managers and Auditors for Telum Inc. where they traveled the country together. Frank then worked for Jones Paint and Glass until he retired in 1995.
In 1982, Frank was baptized a member of the LDS Church in which he served many ward and stake capacities. He and Edna served a family history mission together, and remained active in the church until the time of his death. He also served charitably as trustee for the B.P.O.E. 849.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Steven and Gary Brill. He is survived by his wife Edna, daughters Judy (Kenneth) Jones, Peggy (Charles) Reay both of Utah County, and Karen (Paul) Wilke of Medford, Oregon; son, Larry (Tammy) Robinson; sister Mary (Ronney) Noyes; and 16 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
We will miss him greatly, and remember him fondly until we are reunited again.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 7 at the Park 4th Ward chapel 101 West 800 North Provo, Utah at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45. There will also be a viewing Monday November 6 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the same location.
