Gloria Jean Bowen Hughes

Gloria Jean Bowen Hughes, 83, died Friday, February 9, 2007 surrounded by her family at Canyon Breeze Assisted Living Center in Orem, Utah.
She was born April 21, 1923 in Spanish Fork, Utah to David Foster, and Hannah Elizabeth Davis Bowen. She Married Mack F. Hughes in the Salt Lake Temple on November 5, 1942. Gloria graduated from Spanish Fork High and attended BYU her freshman year. She supported the war effort while her husband was in the service and continued to give Mack assistance and support while he earned his Doctorate. She was a full time mother, and raised four children, in Berkeley CA, and helped with the upbringing of her grand children. Gloria was active in the LDS Church and served in many positions. She returned home to Utah after the passing of her husband in 1972.
She is survived by a sister, Ila (Ray) Brooks, of Granby Mass; three children; Jan (Jerry) Hair, of Orem, Jill (Mike) Hansen, of Provo, Jack Hughes, of Oakland CA; eight grand children; Kathleen Ellinger, Kristin Richards, Jade Cherrington, Conor, Jackson and Isaac Hughes, Jacob Hair and Hannah Hansen and five great grand children.
She was preceded in death by her Husband Mack, and daughter Vicki (Bruce and Patsy) Ellinger; six sisters and one brother. Gloria will be missed by all who knew her.
Services will be held Thursday February 15, at 12:00 noon at; the LDS Spanish Fork 19th Ward, 585 N Main Street, Spanish Fork under the direction of SereniCare Funeral Home. Family and friends may visit prior to the services from 11:00 a.m. - 11:45 a,m. Interment in the Spanish Fork Cemetery.
