Herbert Frank Smart

Herbert F. Smart, Jr. Our loving husband, father, brother and friend, Herbert Smart, passed away peacefully in his sleep the morning of Feb. 26, 2021. His wife, Karyl, and dog, Buddy, were at his side. He was 84.

Having been injured during military service at 19, he spent the next 65 years of his life confined to a wheelchair. He never allowed that or related health issues dampen his spirit for life. He loved to draw, paint, hunt, fish and spend time with family, friends and pets whenever possible.

He is survived by his wife, Karyl; children Stanley, Joseph, Nichole, Isaac; siblings Martin, Lynda; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Sr. and Edna; son Steven.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 4th at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church: 1375 E Spring Lane Salt Lake City, Utah 84117 Viewing at 10:00 AM followed by Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Murray City Cemetery.
