Hilda "Pat" Peterson

Hilda "Pat" Flachman Peterson, 94, passed away of natural causes July 5, 2006 in Salt Lake City. She was born April 20, 1912 in Bielefeldt, Germany to Herman Wilhelm Flachman and Marie Johanna Meier Flachman.
Hilda came to America at the age of 2 with her family and settled in the Salt Lake Valley. She attended LDS Business College. She married Mervin A. Peterson, September 20, 1940. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple, June 12, 1942. Mervin passed away in 1990. She and her husband enjoyed traveling to many parts of the world. Hilda had a love for life and enjoyed her family and friends. She prided herself on being an extraordinary cook and homemaker. Her sense of humor drew others to her. She enjoyed reading and doing beautiful hand work. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings in Primary, Sunday School and Relief Society.
She is survived by four children: Shirley Engman (Art, deceased) of Salt Lake City; Duane Peterson of Salt Lake City, Jerry (Ila) Peterson of Chandler, AZ and Carol (Tim) Secrist of Salt Lake City, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family extends thanks to the staff of Holladay Health Care for their tender care.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Monday, July 10, 2006 at the Mt. Olympus Stake Center, 3862 East Oakview Drive (4275 South) Salt Lake City. Friends and family may call one hour prior to services. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
