James Blair Martineau

J. Blair Martineau, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away suddenly on April 15, 2010 at the age of 55. He was loved by his family and friends for his good sense of humor, quick wit, sarcasm, and overall zest for life. Born March 20, 1955 to G. Grant and Myrna Martineau of Salt Lake City, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Roger. He was a graduate of Utah State University where he was captain of the basketball team. He went on to teach and fulfilled his life ambition as head basketball coach of the Cottonwood High Colts where he was loved by students and teachers alike. He retired in 2008. He loved to travel with his wife, fish at Strawberry Reservoir and joke around with everyone. His joy for life was infectious.

Survived by his best friend and wife, Suzanne Pearson Martineau, his ex-wife, Chris Farnsworth and children, Ryan (Lindsey), Craig (Lani), Eric, Michelle, Searle (Mat), Kami, Steven and four grandchildren. Step-children; Jodie Cunningham (James), Wensdy Pearson, Tyler Pearson (Courtney) and five step-grandchildren. He is greatly loved and will be missed by all. . A viewing will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2010 from 6 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, April 22, 2010 from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Mountain View 8th Ward Chapel (2901 W. 9000 S.) in West Jordan, Utah. In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions would be greatly appreciated.
