Jean "Nonnie" Jessop

Jean Fuller Jessop passed away peacefully in her 90th year on 29 November 2006 of causes incident to age and a recent stroke. She was born on 22 April 1917 in Stone, Idaho, to Amos Levi Fuller and Agnes Park Brockbank, the youngest daughter and fourth of five children. She grew up in Snowville and Smithfield, Utah, graduating from North Cache High School in 1935.
Jean married Howard Valentine Jessop on 21 August 1936 in the Salt Lake Temple for time and eternity. They lived in Logan, Utah, Cheyenne, Wyoming, Olympia, Washington, and Tempe, Arizona, where Howard was employed by the various states and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Their union was blessed with five children. Several years after Howard's death, Jean moved to Orem, Utah, where she resided with her youngest daughter until her passing.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully served in a variety of positions during her lifetime. She loved her Savior and maintained her testimony while enduring to the end. Jean enjoyed reading; playing games (especially Scrabble, Rook and homemade memory games); watching BYU football, Utah Jazz games, golf, ice skating and tennis and game shows on TV; writing poetry for family members and special occasions; camping at the Carpinteria, California, Beach (she was in charge of the campfire); spending time with her family and talking to them regularly on the phone; and in later years traveling to all 50 states and many national parks and historical sites.
Jean is survived by her sister Edith Reese and brother Carl Fuller; her son Lynn (Alice) of Orem, Utah; daughter JoAnne Macdonald (John) of San Bernardino, California, and daughter Mary Jean Holt of Orem, Utah. She also leaves 21 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren with one on the way. Two other daughters (Dawn Kangas and Caroline) and a great-grandson Dakota Redding preceded her in death. She leaves behind a legacy of love and service to her Savior, church and family.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 8th, at 11 a.m. at the Orem 11th Ward Chapel located at the corner of 800 West and 1600 North in Orem, Utah. The viewing will begin at 9 a.m. the same day in the Relief Society Room. Interment will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 9th, in the Millville City Cemetery, Millville, Utah.
