Jim Ellis Rainwater

James “Jim” Ellis Rainwater, died at home on October 2, 2016. He was born in Guinn, Alabamba on March 1, 1945 to Thurman and F. Modean (Cambron) Rainwater.

After High School, Jim joined the Army and served 2 tours in Vietnam, earning the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. After his service he took up long-haul trucking.

On June 30, 1979, Jim married his sweetheart, Marlene Jones. They enjoyed camping and fishing.

Surviving Jim is his wife of 37 years, Marlene; his son, James Scott Rainwater; his stepchildren: Tami Beckmn, Jo Ann McKean, Tracy Mutler, Bert Bailey, and Robert Bailey; grandchildren: Autum, Rich, and Rachel; siblings: Larry D., Judy M., and Euline. He was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Lois Murphy; and siblings, Robert G. and Floyd R.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park Cemetery. Special thanks to the care given to Jim at the VA Hospital and from Superior Hospice.
