Joan Constance Laneville

Joan Constance Laneville April 19, 1929 to Nov.8, 2006 Daughter of Lillian Illo Mason Laneville, Sister of Bonnie Jean Hutchings, Homer C. Laneville, Richard C. Laneville 83 and wife Michelle of Diamond Bar, California. Joan spent her youth in Monrovia and San Mateo, California, graduated from San Mateo Jr. College. She was a stewardess for United Airlines for 38 years of which the last eight were spent hiding her memory loss until it became so acute she could no longer function in her job. She truly fought a heroic battle those eight years between her mind and the ability to keep working and unbeknown to all those around her as she hid in solitary.
Joan is a kind spirit; she loved her birds, dogs, cats. She loved camping and riding motorcycles thru the waterways and mountains of Seattle.
Joan never married because of the airlines early rules against it, but she is beloved by all of us who have taken care of her the past 17 years. With Joan we have had front row seats to the challenges and yet, more so the blessings of Alzheimer's.
A viewing will be held Sunday, November 12 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the LDS chapel, 672 North 250 West in Springville, Utah. Interment will be held at Springville Evergreen Cemetery on Monday, November 13 at 11:00am. Arrangements made SereniCare Funeral Directors.
