He was preceded in death by his father and mother, his stepmother, Linda Herbert Valdez, and two stepfathers; Joe Jesse Mansanarez and Marvin Douglas Brough. His half brother James Anthony Mansanarez also preceded him in death. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and grandchildren as well as some great grandchildren his daughter, Amanda Valdez and son, Joseph Valdez.
Joe loved being with family and friends. He formed a lot of relationships wherever he went. He even found himself a girlfriend in the care center in which he lived for the past five years, as a result of a stroke, which left him paralyzed on the left side of his body. One of his favorite singers was Johnny Cash. He enjoyed working with his hands, repairing cars, eating hamburgers and watching TV. Riding motorcycles was also a passion for him.
His work throughout his life was in the area of construction. Joseph faced many bumps in the road throughout his life, and was unable to participate in activities that he loved, and to care for himself during the past five years. Therefore, we his family and friends are so grateful for his release from this life. He takes with him much love from all of us.
We would also like to thank the caregivers in the Paramount Health and Rehabilitation Center for the care that was provided.
A celebration service of his life will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026 at the Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park at 10:30.
