Joyce F Shields

Joyce F Shields, 89, left us early Saturday morning 10/27/2018. Mom was born 10/8/1929 to Arthur and Alvida Sorensen in Redmond, UT. She graduated high school from Gunnison High. Joyce married Paul Shields 9/23/1953 in Salt Lake City. She retired from AT&T with 30 years of service.

Survived by: son, Mark; daughter, Terry; grandchildren: Stephanie, Eric, Jessica, Kyle, and Travis; great-granddaughters: Rian and Arin; and her siblings: Terry, Marlene, and Nellie. Preceded in death by: husband, Paul; son, Ronnie; grandson, Zach; siblings: Jay, Thelma, Jean, Gayle, and Roland; and daughter-in-Law, Linda.

Mom was a fabulous cook. She loved staying up all night playing cards, family reunions, making quilts, gardening and yardwork, shopping, and spending time with her family. During the last 2 years of her life, Joyce was cared for at Pheasant Run. A special thanks to all nurses and staff at Pheasant run and Cornerstone Hospice Care.

Graveside services will be held in her honor on Thursday, November 1st at 2:00 PM at Murray City Cemetery, 5490 S. Vine St. Murray UT 84107.
