Jr. "J.R." Albert Jesse Leasher

Albert Jesse Leasher, Jr. "J.R." 34, of Chandler, AZ passed away December 11, 2013. J.R was born on November 16, 1979 in Pittsburgh, PA. He is survived by his son Allen Leasher, mother Sue Leasher, sister Melissa Leasher and was preceded in death by his father Al Leasher. Other survivors include: Uncle Mike and Aunt Melissa Rightmire, Uncle Allen "Mac" and Aunt Pearl McCary, Uncle Bobby and Aunt Yvonne Rightmire, cousins Carrie and Ed Garland, Callie and Cavan Garland, Peggy Menster, Allen McCary, Julie McCary, Todd and Kirsten Rightmire, Hannah and Grayson Rightmire, Tim Rightmire, Michael Bradley, Dan Leasher, Shane and Aleta Leasher, Gene Leasher, Madison Leasher, Farrell and Tony Drake, Kane Leasher, Heidi Bleck, Heidi Winquist, Tanner Sanders, Jamie Pitts, Chis Turner, and all of his friends at the American Legion Post 35, American Legion Post 91 and American Legion Post 39. J.R. graduated in 1998 from Corona del Sol High School in Tempe AZ and attended Mesa and Chandler/Gilbert Community Colleges. J.R. loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Pittsburgh Penguins and A.S.U. football and spending time with his son Allen. As a kid, he earned many awards in tae kwon do, played soccer, baseball, was a great bowler and served in student government. J.R. could fix almost anything, and his son recently said he wanted to grow up to be a "WWE wrestler, and a fixer like my Dad." As Sr. Vice Commander of the Matthew B. Juan Post 35 Sons of the American Legion, he actively supported veterans by volunteering and raising money for programs like The Wounded Warrior Project and for individual members and their families. He was a really good cook and also enjoyed sushi, comedy and trivia. J.R. Leasher was also able to help others through organ donation as he wished. A Celebration of Life service will be held at The American Legion Matthew B. Juan Post 35, 2240 W. Chandler Blvd Chandler, AZ 85224 on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made for a college fund for J.R.'s son Allen Leasher at any Chase Bank (account #533690108).
