Judith A Koczynski

A long time Rockland County, NY resident, Judy was born May 17, 1949, in Nyack, NY. She and her adoring older brother Bobby spent their early years in Stony Point and Haverstraw before moving to Spring Valley. She was a proud graduate of Spring Valley High School and Ramapo College. A child of the sixties, she attended Woodstock and was by all accounts a hippie who loved peace. Judy raised her children in Upper Nyack, NY and worked at Oak Tree Cooperative Playgroup in Palisades for many years. In 2012 Judy moved to Park City, Utah to be close to her grandchildren. Known as “Nan,” she was cherished by her grandsons and spent countless hours playing with them, attending their concerts, sporting events, and shuttling them to various activities.

Judy loved music from a variety of genres, thunderstorms, fireworks, good pastries, Coca Cola Classic, taking her grandsons to the Jersey Shore and was an avid follower of the U.S. Women’s Soccer team. She had a wonderful sense of humor and most importantly she loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally. She made friends with everyone she encountered and will be dearly missed.

Judy was predeceased by her mother Dorothy Hooper, her father Robert Hooper, her sister Susan Hooper and her brother Stephen Dougherty.

Judy is survived by her daughter Katie (Billy) Demong and their sons, Liam and Renn of Park City, Utah. She is also survived by her son, Robert Koczynski (Susan) of Pennsylvania, her brother, Robert Hooper (Pat) of New Jersey, her sister, April Kelly (Sean) of Florida, her brother, Kevin Hooper (Anne) of North Carolina, her brother, David Schubert (Irene) of New Jersey, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
