Judy Carol (Phillips) Fillerup, age 82, passed away on March 6, 2026, in West Jordan, Utah surrounded by loving family members.Judy was born In Littlefield, Texas on March 17, 1943.
Judy was previously married to Ramon Esslinger and is survived by their three children; Lori Goldsmith (Ken) of West Jordan, Utah, Jeff Esslinger (Cherena) of Lincoln, California, and Kristi James (Dan) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her seven beloved grandchildren Justin, Jacob (Hannah), Dallin (Nicole), Tanner, Aaron, Adam (Kaylee) and Micayla (Kristopher); and seven great grandchildren and one on the way; her nephews Jim Phillips and Charley Phillips, their spouses and many great nephews and great nieces.Judy was preceded in death by her parents (Charley) Bennett and Beatrice Phillips, her brother Harley Phillips, her sister in law Marilyn Phillips and her nephew Timothy Phillips.
Judy obtained her Associate’s Degree at a community college in Bakersfield, California, she was a jeweler for many years before she owned a jewelry store for 13 years in Sonora, California and became a certified gemologist. She later became a paralegal in Los Angeles, California and worked at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Judy was a talented artist and cook. She was a devoted and loving mother and daughter. Judy had a great love for her Savior Jesus Christ and her Heavenly Father. She cherished her membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and devoted countless hours to genealogy work, both researching her own family history and helping others discover theirs.
Judy loved all things that glittered and sparkled in life! She had a love for the arts, she enjoyed traveling, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She treasured nothing more than her children and grandchildren. She was one to carry constant concern and worry about their safety and welfare to the point of being extreme and to the amusement of her family.
Many called her a friend, and to many she was a true saint, known for her quiet acts of kindness and selflessness. She was quick to smile and loved to laugh, often sharing her sense of humor with those around her. A naturally positive person, she always hoped to make the world a little better for everyone she met.
Job well done, Mom. We love you deeply and will miss you every day until we meet again.
