Julie Louise Holland Larsen May left this beautiful world and her family on February 26, 2026. Julie was born in Salt Lake City on April 5, 1958, to Edward Harold Max Holland and Geraldine “Jerry” Ruth Bolin.
Julie was married and had six children: David Larsen, Joshua Larsen (Reilly), Becky Facer (David), Sharon Stevens (Curtis), Candace May and Kyle May (Amy). Julie also loved being a Grandma and had 11 grandchildren: Ashly (Jayden), Kaytlyn, Hanna, Edison, Whitney (Justin), Echo (Logan), Riley, Casey, Jorey, Coltin (Heather) and Conner (Asia). She also was a very proud Great Grandma to Reyna, Astrid and Arthur.
Family didn’t just mean blood relatives to Julie, and she readily accepted the role of sister, “momma” and “nana” to many people including Brittaney Moore (Jace) and the Easter Clan: Frank and Mandy, Rebecca Mara (Shawn), Franklin, Yvonne, Jodi Croft (Braxton), Avery, Kaylee, Owen, Liam, Bennett and Hudson. Julie loved all of her friends and family.
Julie enjoyed life as much as she could. She loved camping, fishing, reading books, playing games and was a prolific “crafter”. She loved making homemade gifts, clothes and blankets for friends and family members, and would spend all year working on them. Julie was also a huge hockey fan her whole life. She spent years in the “Screaming Eagles” booster club supporting the Salt Lake Golden Eagles before the team moved to Detroit. She regularly attended Utah Grizzlies hockey games and was a huge supporter of the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers. No one who knew her can ever forget her obsession with Neil Diamond and the boy band New Kids on the Block.
Julie is also an endowed member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings including as a Choir member, Primary Teacher, Sunday School teacher and a Young Women’s Counselor.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents Ed & Jerry, her sister and brother-in-law Jill & Don Swain, as well as her best friend Armanda “Mandy” Easter. She was so excited to be reunited with them.
Julie wanted to thank all the people, especially her family, who helped her throughout her life. She expressed her appreciation and love to you all. She will be greatly missed.
The Larsen/May family would also like to express our sincere appreciation to Monument Health Stonecreek in Bountiful and to the amazing staff at the Intermountain Medical Center Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and Hospice Services for the care and compassion they showed to our mom.
Internment will take place at the Salt Lake City Cemetery where Julie will be laid to rest next to her parents.
