Karen Sant

Our beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt and friend, Karen Sant, 24, died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on August 23. Karen was born in Murray Utah on May 4, 1990 to Howard Wayne and Jennifer Sant. She lived and attended schools in Cottonwood Heights UT, Cincinnati OH, Bloomington IN, and graduated from Jordan High School in Sandy UT in 2008. She earned and associates degree in Science from Salt Lake Community College, and was preparing to attend nursing school. She worked as a laboratory technician at Jordan Valley Medical Center and previously at ARUP laboratories. Karen was the most compassionate person we have ever encountered. She was an incredible friend who would drop everything to help anyone who needed her. She was thoughtful; always thinking of others and doing little things to help them have a pleasant day. Her compassion and kindness showed in everything she ever did and said. Her patients adored her. Her family members and friends appreciated her deep and committed friendship. Her nieces and nephews rocked her world and she did theirs. Hundreds of friends, work associates and family members will deeply miss Karen's brilliant smile and joyous camaraderie. Karen is survived by her parents, Howard and Jennifer, siblings Sara (Nick) Hosler, David (Brooke), Garrison (Jenessa), and Madison Sant; eight nieces and nephews, her grandparents, and her boyfriend David Porter. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the LDS meetinghouse on 9331 South 300 East in Sandy UT. A viewing will be held at 10:00 AM before the funeral. Interment: Crescent Cemetery.
