Lanny Steven Spraycar, 63, passed away on December 5, 2006. Born January 1, 1943 to Louis Stephen and Beth Luila Oliver Spraycar.
Married Carol Ann Shomaker on February 22, 1963 in the Manti LDS Temple.
Lanny graduated from Weber High School in 1961. He worked for 40 years at Hill Air Force Base as an Electronics Mechanic. He received many work related awards including one that saved the Air Force $212,794.00. He won a first place blue ribbon at the Utah State Fair for Wood Carving.
Lanny really loved his family and spent a lot of time with grandkids. He loved music and was very musically inclined. He played the piano, organ, accordion and harmonica. He could play almost any instrument that he was handed by ear. He could also read music but just loved playing. He loved to cook, carve wood, tool leather, fix clocks, drill wells, do small engine repair and many other hobbies. Most recently he loved playing with his new toys a Kubota backhoe and hydraulic log splitter. Mostly he loved to work any project with and for his kids. His oldest son was his sidekick and debating sounding board. He loved to be right and he always was.
He is survived by his wife and sweetheart, Carol Ann and children; Steven (Joy) Spraycar, LoriAnn (Craig) Ashby, Stephanie (Nick) Walter, Jeremy (Krista) Spraycar, Jason (Tami) Spraycar, Angie (Brent) Bradley, Joshua (Heather) Spraycar, Alyson (Dustin) Waite, Amber (Adam) Keele, Mike Bertoch, Connie (Pat) Kendrick, and his tiny four legged children; Rosie, Tequilla and Sysco. 32 grandchildren (plus three in production) and 2 great-grandchildren, three sisters; Kathy (Tom) Rose, Jill (Brent) Jorgensen, Gloria (John) Redhair. Good friend John Sorensen, cousins; Tommy, Boyd, uncle Robert and many other relatives and friends, to many to list but not forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Kevin Bertoch.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 11, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Roy 23rd Ward, 5930 S 2200 W, Roy. Viewing will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2006 from 6 - 8 p.m. and on Monday one hour prior to services. Arrangements under the direction of SereniCare Funeral Home.
Internment will follow services at the Roy City Cemetery, 2300 W. 5300 S.
The family would like to thank the Westside Medical Staff in Clinton, Utah.
