Leland Dennis Barnson

Leland Dennis (Casper) Barnson, 50, of Salt Lake City died peacefully on July 30, 2006 from liver failure. He was born in Salt Lake City on October 25, 1955 to Joan H. Draper and Ronald D. Casper and was later adopted and raised by Earl C. Barnson. He married Debria C. Wilkerson on November 1, 1974 and later divorced in 2003.

Dennis was the laugh in laughter. He could always put a smile on our face. His family meant the most to him especially his grandchildren. He was a very proud man and always there to encourage us when we needed it. He had a passion for music that will play in our hearts forever. We are so proud of the battle he fought these last few months but are relieved that the suffering is over. There will not be a day that goes by that we will not think of him; his memories will last forever. Rest in peace my boy.

He is survived by three sons, Jesse Lee (Debra) Barnson, David Bud (Amanda) Barnson, Christopher Earl (Karen) Barnson and a daughter Carlinda W. Dringle, grandmother Alverna Anderson, mother Joan D (Harvey) Winegar, biological father Ronald D. Casper, brother Ronald Dee Barnson, brother John Jed (Debbie) Barnson, & seven grandchildren. Survivors also include many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by father Earl C. Barnson, and sister Loni Marie Casper. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 3, 2006 at the Crescent 14th Ward Chapel, 10375 South 630 East in Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services where friends and family may call. Interment will follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1950 East. Arrangements by SereniCare Funeral Directors.

Our sincere appreciation to Lifepath Hospice, Evergreen Canyons, and all others who provided there compassionate care and support during the last few months of Dads life.
