Libbie Lyman Loudenback

Listen to Obituary

Our beloved Libbie Lyman Loudenback passed away on Saturday, December 13th, 2025. She was 91 years old and left behind her husband, Gordon E. Loudenback, her son, John L. Loudenback as well as many nephews and nieces.

Libbie grew up in Blanding, Utah, with her parents, Lynn F. Lyman and Hazel B. Lyman, her brother, Gary B. Lyman and sister, Linda Lyman Bohn. Libbie first met her husband Gordon while he was renting a room in her parent’s home while on a job in Blanding.

She graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in nursing and spent a number of years in the Air Force reserves as a flight nurse. She worked for the State of Utah helping kids with Cystic Fibrosis and at the Handicapped Children’s Services.

She loved animals, especially cats and there were always a number of cats at our home. A significant part of her time was spent helping stray animals find homes and get medical care.

She was a loving mother and wife and we really miss her. We know she’s with her Heavenly Father and other family now and no longer in pain.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 12 pm at the Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park at 17111 S. Camp Williams Rd., Bluffdale, Utah.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Best Friends Animal Charity in Salt Lake City, Utah.
