Louise Frances Yakel

Louise Frances Yakel peacefully passed away in the early hours of April 15, 2013, in the presence of her beloved husband, Robert. Louise was born on May 16, 1949 to Lewis and Shirley Maloney in Brockton, Massachusetts. As she grew, Louise attended and graduated from Whitman-Hanson Reg. High School in 1967. Shortly after, Louise met the love of her life, Robert Gene Yakel, and they were married, June 21, 1973; in Fort Collins, Colorado. Although Louise found much joy in playing Bingo, bowling, crocheting, cooking, being outdoors, and loving on her cats: Ginger, Casey and Catman (Casey and Catman both deceased); her greatest pride and joy came from being a homemaker and Mom to her two daughters, Michelle Rego and Julie Shottenkirk (Michael). Louise is survived by her sweetheart, Robert; daughters Michelle and Julie (Michael); 4 sisters: Sandi, Beth, Dianne, Kathy; her brother Louie; 7 grandchildren: Christine (Michael Grange), Jessica, Jasmine, Courtney, Bobby, Ryan, and Kyle; and 3 great-grandchildren: D.J., Isaiah, and Shiann. She is preceded in death by her parents. Although there will be no formal services held, the family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Sunrise Home Health & Hospice for going above and beyond in taking care of Louise during the last part of her earthly journey.
