From her eternal companion Vern’s unbiased point of view.
Just as the day’s new sun crested the eastern mountains shining Bountiful to life, so early on the beautiful quiet morning of February 11, 2026, Luauna June Love Brazell’s companion, The Holy Spirit, whispered to her:
Luauna, choice and beautiful and faithful daughter of Our Heavenly Father, you have spent 91 fruitful years in your mortal sojourn. It is time now for you to enjoy the rest of your Heavenly Father’s promises.
I have reviewed your heavenly records, monitored and sealed by My Holy Power. I express my love and appreciation and gladness that you have kept the covenants you made with Heavenly Father before you accepted the rigorous experience of having a mortal body and having the challenges of choosing between the many alternatives your time would present.
You chose well.
You were born to goodly parents, Steve L. Love and June Rigby Love, entering mortality on November 28 just in time for the Season of Thanksgiving.
You were taught many great principles of heaven and earth. Mainly, to love and worship God, as your Heavenly Father, and love and worship His Son, Your Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ, to respect and honor and seek the companionship of the Holy Ghost, and to love and honor your earthly parents. With these beginning and eternal teachings, you learned to serve and to love with the pure love of your Savior, Jesus Christ, judging not.
You selected as your representative symbol, the heart, and as your mantra, “pure love.”
Heavenly Father was pleased.
You were diligent in your growing years. You enjoyed full participation in your school training and offices. You maintained a strong record of attendance in your church duties and responsibilities even as you promised you would.
At the University of Utah as you studied to become an elementary school teacher, “Miss Love,” you received many awards and recognitions.
And as you received these academic and service awards to be an honorary select member of Spurs, Queen, Mortar Board and while serving as president of Pi Beta Phi sorority, and were recognized as Greek of the Year and were chosen as “U Days Queen,” and as you modeled for Astrid clothing Company, yyou maintained a strong conviction of obedience to the laws, commandments, and guiding principles of Your Savior’s gospel, keeping pride at a distance.
You served in Sigma, the LDS campus organization, and you balanced these recognitions with your standing as a disciple of Jesus, as evidenced by your receiving your desired temple endowment at just age 20 in the middle of all these happenings.
We are also pleased that both at the University of Utah and after you married, you worked with challenged young friends who were blind or had cerebral palsy. With your husband, you also worked tirelessly to raise money for Camp Kostopulos, serving many in need.
Your heavenly record verifies that in August of 1959, you were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple by Apostle Richard L. Evans, to your eternal companion, H. Vern Brazell.
With Heavenly Father’s blessing you became the mother of four of His precious sons, Robert, Jeff (now married to Marianne), Steve (now married to Heather), and Troy (now married to Lisa) and now have grandchildren and great grandchildren: Tyson, Brianna, Michael, Jessica, Tiffany, Ryan, Johnathon, Jordan, Katherine, Brooke, Danica, Dante, Constance, Emily, Valerie, Thorin, Ingrid, and Austrid.
Your sons were taught and nurtured in the gospel and each of them became Eagle Scouts and each served a mission in the name of Jesus Christ.
You were a dedicated, careful, and fully invested mother in your total love and concern for your sons. Your teaching, morning scripture study and constant prayers were just part of your mothering.
You and your husband dedicated yourselves as missionaries most of your married life. You both had many missionary callings together. As a result, you learned to love numerous ones beyond your own family who have graced your life as many of them became “extended family.”
A fundamental direction of your earthly mission has been to serve. Service is your love made visible. And, it truly blossomed all around you.
We are pleased that you love so many on both sides of the veil.
You did an exemplary work in the nearly 67 years of marriage with your husband Vern as, together, you nurtured and taught one another the true principles and virtues and higher laws of the gospel of Jesus Christ while serving in many church callings of leadership and support.
You were a steady and always present helpmate and companion in all of your husband’s business positions and endeavors and in all of his callings in the church. You were always at his side, striving to be equally yoked as the Lord has taught.
You bravely fought kidney cancer for almost seven years, along with other physical ailments, and you showed grace and appreciation as your eternal companion was always at your side, caring for you.
Your declared guide in life has been to “Live, Love and Learn.” Your example and testimony to all who have had the pleasure of knowing you is that you do love Heavenly Father and show that love by obedience to His commandments and doing His works. You show your love for your Savior Jesus Christ by doing His work and obeying His commandments and serving Him. And you cherish your strong relationship with the Holy Ghost by continually inviting His Spirit to guide and direct your life and always be in all your thoughts and hopes and works. You love unconditionally.
So, beloved and precious daughter Luauna, you are welcomed home where you will celebrate your life and those of so many of your cherished loved ones, then continue your work on both sides of the veil.
Well done wonderful, loving, and faithful servant.
Welcome home.
Our family and especially Vern, express our gratitude to the many wonderful and loving neighbors and friends who filled Luauna’s life with sweet goodness constantly and contributed to her care.
We express extra heartfelt thanks to Dick and Tracy Whitney, who served as special and dedicated ministering and guardian angels to Luauna for years. Also, we express sincere gratitude to Brooke Hurst, Luauna’s superlative hospice nurse for her wonderful care, and the attentive, respectful SereniCare team.
