Luke Brady

Luke "K" Brady, age 21, passed away August 26, 2008.

He was born June 14, 1987 in Mesa, Arizona, the beloved son of Brian "K" Brady and Carol Garfield Brady. He was the youngest of five children. After moving to UT in 1995, he continued his growing up years in Draper. He will be dearly missed.

Luke suffered in this life with severe feelings of inadequacy. He hurt both emotionally and physically, shedding huge tears. All he wanted was to be liked and loved, and he tried so hard to give that in return. He has the biggest forgiving heart. Please remember him that way.

Luke was a member of the LDS Church. When young he was involved in scouts.

Right from the beginning, Luke had a strong will. "He took on the world." He was a natural leader. Family and friends admired his hard-working nature, entrepreneur spirit, passion and integrity. He started his own landscaping business, selling from door to door. He moved on into a managing position at Platinum Car Wash. He motivated others to perform at their best. Luke also worked with his 2 brothers, Walker and Dan, creating beautiful and amazing landscapes with rock walls.

He spoke the truth, so you knew where you stood with him. He would say it, "Like he saw it." He would hold a lot in, also, to avoid hurting other's feelings. He had an extremely tender heart, and was very sensitive. He would often leave love notes for his mom and sister. One of his many gifts was that he could tell when people were genuine. Luke had the courage to stand up for himself, be a spokesman for others, and encourage them to do the same. He would have taken the shirt off his back for anyone.

Luke was a darling, sparkling smiley, child. He was so friendly and outgoing. He was a genius at math, very mature for his age, and yet very child like. He loved nature right from the beginning. He wanted acreage to garden and farm the landscape. Most likely he inherited that gift of gardening from his Grandparents.

Luke loved to stay active. He was definitely a "doer," but would relax, as well, in front of the television. He played all kinds of athletic sports, very well, as a youth. What he really loved was dirt biking and snow boarding. He is multitalented. He was cautious, and yet would "go for it," with accidents put in the mix. He would recover, and move on.

Luke picked up archery and hunted deer that way. Got a buck his first season out. Soon, hiking in the mountains became his favorite pass time. Luke's perfect day would start with a McDonald's breakfast, a wilderness adventure with his dog (Bud) in the afternoon, and end with family and friends around the campfire. He knew the Wasatch Mountains as an expert and found sanctuary there. He was a natural born "Survivor Man" in both talent and spirit. His greatest desire was to spend time with family and friends in the mountains. He said no one could keep up with him, so he took off on his own. On his solitary excursions, he would notify people where he was going, having his cell phone with him. His dream was to live in Alaska!

Luke had amazing patience when it came to hunting and photography. He would spend hours watching for game. Have you seen his photos? He waited for that perfect sunset or the deer to walk up.

How many of you experienced his, around the back, big long hug?

He is survived by his parents, and siblings: Cliffton (Christine), Mandi, Walker, and Daniel, 5 nieces and nephews, grandparents "K" and Faye Brady. Proceeded in death by his maternal cousin, 2 uncles, and grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at Noon on Sat, Aug 30th at the LDS Chapel, Draper, UT on 272 E. Traverse Point Dr. (South Coordinate 14700 South Traverse Ridge Road). East off exit 14600 S., taking Highland Drive, east of the Chevron. (Viewing: 10-11:30am). There will also be a viewing at the same location from 6-8pm on Fri, Aug 29th.
