Lynene Brooke Simmons was born in Salt Lake City, July 29, 1939. She is the first of two children born to Linville Symons Simmons and Helena Peterson Simmons. Lynene lived with her parents in the avenues in Salt Lake City, then moved with her mother to Blaine Avenue after her father passed away July 27, 1968.

Nene was innately spiritual. She was officially called by her Bishop to serve in the Salt Lake LDS Temple nursery for children awaiting to be sealed to their parents. She was thrilled. She would confidently say to her friends, "I'm so Happy when I'm helping the children in the Temple".

After the passing of her mother, June 19, 2000, she moved in with her sister, Kathleen, and brother-in-law, Richard Lee Pulsipher. She remained with them and their six children until Richard passed away on January 6, 2006 Lynene then moved in with her sister Kathleen to live in Lehi, Utah..  In mid January 2015, Nene fell to the concrete getting into a neighbor's SUV, leaving her right femur shattered. After surgery and a long recovery, doctors determined she should remain permanently in a long-term care facility.

Since January, 2015, she resided for three years in Draper Rehabilitation. Because Lynene had progressive dementia, it became necessary to mover her into a secured facility. In 2018, Copper Ridge Health Care Center became her next and final home.

Despite the fact that Lynene "Nene" was mentally challenged and physically limited throughout her life, she LOVED to walk... always with her trusty walker... throughout the beautiful gardens at Thanksgiving Point and along the Jordan River. She not only loved to walk, she loved to talk.... With Everyone!! she met along her daily adventures.

Nene also took piano lessons from a very qualified, yet kind and patient instructor. Nene was never more proud than the day she played our mother's favorite song at her funeral, in June of 2000. Nene walked carefully, but with resolve, to the piano, sat down, and played a lovely rendition of the popular song of the 1930's, "Stardust".

Gradually, over the last several years, Nene's ability to speak in sentences decreased; her health declined, and the wounds that would not heal gradually took a heavy toll. On June 12, 2026, her perfect soul returned to Loftier Realms, there to reside.....Forever.
